I went for a short walk in the Brecon Beacons the other day. The Brecon Beacons is fantastic for easy hill-walking. This is the Sugar Loaf – an easy walk, which you can do from the centre of Abergavveny without a car. The Sugar Loaf takes a few hours, (for those of us of medium fitness). It is high enough to give you dramatic views and, most likely, sight of some birds of prey, (Red Kites I think), circling around the summit. This is just one of many such walks in the Brecon Beacons ; hill-walking without the precipies. (You can go to Snowdonia for that).
While I was in Abergavenny I stayed in the excellent guesthouse “The Guest House”. Kevin is a kind and thoughtful host. Book via booking.com, or, better, call direct on: + 44 (0)1873 854 823.
